The Resilience Lab is all about good mental health! The fun, interactive exercises have been designed to help you learn all about your own resilience.
Everyone at some stage in their life is going to be faced with something that they struggle with. Knowing how to get through these tricky times and ‘bounce back’ from them is really important for our health and happiness. At OTR’s Resilience Lab, we can inspire you to do just that.
Resilience Lab online runs as five weekly interactive sessions covering how to manage pressures, make friends with stress, thinking traps, strengths and how to reach out. The aim of Res Lab is to equip you with the knowledge and skills to help manage your mental wellbeing.
At the start of every session there will then be a ‘go round’ where everyone will introduce themselves, sharing their name and a different ice-breaker each week. We ask that you have your camera on and you can either speak or type your answer in the chat.

Sessions will explore:
Session 1 Pressure Proof:
- To think about the pressures that we all face in life
- Explore ways to create more calm and take the pressure off
- Consider what the barriers are to doing these calming techniques
Session 2 Making friends with Stress:
- To take a look at what stress is and how it affects our feelings, thinking, behaviour and body.
- To create a plan for how to deal with stress when it happens
Session 3 Thinking traps:
- To explore what negative automatic thoughts are and think about how they impact on us
- To think about some ways to challenge NATS so they have less control over us
Session 4 Identifying our strengths:
- Learn about what strengths are and why they help with resilience
- Discover some of our own strengths and think about how to use them
Session 5 Reaching out:
- To explore how reaching out can help us build our resilience
- Looking at some of the challenges we face in asking for help and explore how to overcome them
